Cylindrical Brushes

At Tennant, brush development is an integral part of new machine development. Brush characteristics are identified and tested with the machine’s down pressure, brush speed, and water flow to help ensure the brush operates optimally with the machine design.

WHAT IS CYLINDRICAL BRUSH SCRUBBING?

Put simply, a cylindrical scrubbing brush cleaning machine will disperse cleaning solution, scrub the floors utilising the counter-rotating brushes, then using a parabolic squeegee the solution will be picked up. Through consistent brush speed rotation, cylindrical brushes will deliver low-moisture deep scrubbing. Like all our Tennant machines the floors are touch dry after cleaning.

Cylindrical brushes consist of two identical brushes that turn in opposite directions at speeds between 600-800 RPM. Water is spread via a drip tray that sits in front of the brushes. The motion of the brushes throws loose dirt and particles into a tray that's emptied by the operator after cleaning is completed. This eliminates the need for pre-sweeping before scrubbing. Cylindrical brushes are made from the same types of materials as disc brushes.

Ideal Use
Cylindrical brushes are great for large, open areas that aren't conducive to pre-sweeping. It’s also ideal for floors with grout or cracks where dirt can become trapped.
Industries
Food and beverage manufacturers, parking facilities, warehouses, and other types of production facilities
Floor Type
Natural stone, rubber studded, safety floors, carpet, and laminate

MANUFACTURING STANDARDS

TennantTrue® brush tubes are manufactured to the industry’s tightest standards for straightness, roundness, wall thickness, and fit ensuring a smooth, balanced operation of the brush. These characteristics help prevent excessive wear and strain on the various machine components.

SPLINE DRIVE

The spline on each TennantTrue brush tube is extruded as part of the brush manufacturing process to ensure the best fit on Tennant machines. Look-alike brushes require adapters with screws that can negatively affect brush installation and performance. Tennant’s patented sand wedge scrubbing brush is designed to effectively collect debris and more evenly distribute and contain water. Effective cleaning performance helps reduce labour costs.

Take the guesswork out of choosing brushes. Our factory-direct sales and service representatives learn about your needs and recommend the best brush for each job. Tennant sweeping brushes are built to last. Made with premium, heavy-duty raw materials and a unique spline drive system, these brushes transfer power efficiently from hub to brush for superior performance and long service life.

Full-fill bristle patterns are trimmed to optimal length for floor surface coverage; appropriate bristle stiffness delivers effective scrubbing performance.
