Orbio® os3 On-Site Generation (OSG) System named a Top 10 Product of 2014 by American School & University Magazine

Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC), a world leader in designing, manufacturing and marketing solutions that help create a cleaner, safer, healthier world, announced that the Orbio os3 system—developed and marketed through its Orbio Technologies Group—was named one of the Top 10 Products of 2014 by American School & University Magazine.

This award joins other honors recently given to the os3 system, including the 2014 ISSA Innovation Award in the Dispensers category and Honorable Mention for an Innovation Award by the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE).

The Orbio os3 system replaces conventional, multi-colored and fragranced daily-use chemicals. Through the process of water electrolysis— which combines water, electricity and a small amount of salt—the os3 system creates an on-site and on-demand effective cleaning solution and a disinfecting/sanitizing solution that meets U.S. EPA regulatory guidelines for disinfection and sanitization. Designed to fit in most janitorial closets, the os3 is compact, affordable and simple. The system makes cleaning processes more efficient, streamlines training, and helps improve health and safety. It also decreases the environmental footprint associated with conventional packaged chemicals by reducing packaging and transportation.

“Orbio Technologies is proud to have our os3 system named among the Top 10 Products of 2014 by American School & University Magazine,” said Karla Leis, Vice President and General Manager of Orbio Technologies Group. “The readers of American School & University cast their vote for the game-changing innovation of the os3 system. It is especially gratifying to be recognized by the top facilities decision makers in the education industry.”

Leis added, “The education market is increasingly adopting the Orbio os3 OSG system because of the benefits it provides schools and universities. For instance, the cleaning solution from the os3 does not contain VOCs that can irritate students with asthma. In addition, the compact size of the machine makes it easy to implement and the system can be easily and cost-effectively expanded throughout a facility with the unique os3 satellite system.”
The Top 10 Products of 2014 are featured in the December 2014 issue of American School and University and were selected by the readers of ASU magazine, the nation's K-12 and higher-education administrators responsible for the planning, design, construction, retrofit, operations, maintenance and management of education facilities.
