2019 Tennant sales and distributor conference - vision, leadership, and giving back
From February 25 - March 1 2019, we held our Annual Sales and Distributor Conference at their Eastern Creek head office in Sydney.
We had 25 salespeople attend and 30 distributors (including staff) from all over Australia. We’d like to warmly thank everyone who made the time to come along and we hope you got massive value out of your time with Tennant.
Training, new products, and upgrades
Each conference, we design a full week of training, department updates, new product info, team bonding activities, and the chance for distributors to get to know one another.
For our 2019 conference, we were joined by Ian Holt, our APAC Region Training Manager, so our salespeople and distributors could get training directly from an expert. Ian took our sales reps and distributors through a product training course to help further equip them with the right tools and information to consistently deliver value beyond the machines themselves.
We also had a product manager from Tennant’s USA headquarters join us to answer questions and present information on an upcoming new product launch, plus upgrades to the current range.
Throughout the conference, attendees had plenty of opportunities to for hands-on training to complement the standard classroom training sessions. In particular, attendees were able to compare old models with newer upgraded versions to see the differences in-person.
As well as training, we held several dinners throughout the conference to recognise and award our top-performing distributors and salespeople.
Tennant gives back
Halfway through the conference, our sales teams took some time out to do some volunteering with the House with No Steps, an Australian organisation that helps people with a disability live a great life. We worked on picking, packing, and assembling alongside the warehouse team, before giving them a complimentary floor clean with our machines. Then we all had lunch with together.
“Our involvement and commitment in community based services, continues to be a key focus and forms part of our Tennant Culture. We plan on participating in another program in July of this year,” said Nelly Manser, Tennant ANZ Human Resources Manager.
Previously at conference, Tennant has held fairly standard team activities (like bowling). But after our experience with the House with No Steps, we plan to find more ways to give back to charities through future Tennant team events.
Future vision and leadership training
One other core component to Tennant’s annual conference is our focus on training future leaders in line with our vision to see the company and our people grow.
“We believe that investing in our people today makes a great company for tomorrow and develops our future leaders,” said Ms Manser.
“Leadership and management isn’t just about a direct reporting line, it is showing true collaboration amongst different departments, driving results for the same common goal, whilst helping others to succeed and inspire them to see their full potential. We are excited for Tennant’s future.”
Speaking of future leaders, we’re always on the lookout for incredible people to add to the Tennant team and join us at future conferences. Now that our on-field Tennant sales team is complete, we’re ready to fill a national sales management role with the right person. So if you or anyone you know has the experience and fits our vision of collaborating, helping, and inspiring others, we’d love to chat. Please get them to contact Tennant or reach out to Nelly Manser directly via email: nelly.manser@tennanco.com.
What a great start to 2019!
There’s really no better way to start the year. With so different departments coming together as one team, Tennant’s 2019 Sales & Distributor Conference has paved the way for the next 12-18 months of growth.
